Project components include: 1) removing existing stored material, clearing the area of non-indigenous plants, and removing a broken asphalt driveway and parking area; 2) installing code compliant access and egress paths, parking, and ramps; 3) constructing a 1,300 sq.ft. raised teaching deck, and developing a native garden surrounding the teaching deck and a connection to the existing trail system; and 4) installing interpretive signage on the deck (Oak woodland Eco-system), in the garden, (Native plant identification) and on the trails, (seasonal waterway eco system, native plant symbiosis, etc.). Once complete the project will provide an ideal venue for classes, lectures and walks that would provide outdoor education for all age ranges.
