Document Description
In September 2010, the Riverside Community College District adopted an American's with Disabilities Act Transition Plan and Accessibility Master Plan for all three campuses of the District. The purpose of the ADA Transition Plan is to outline the facility improvements that need to be made in order to achieve ADA compliance. The District is preparing to conduct Phase I of its ADA Transition Plan which includes ADA improvements to four of Riverside Community College's Riverside Campus buildings, which are known as historical resources pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15064.5. WHS conducted a Historic Resources Impacts Analysis on the ADA Improvements to the four historical resources to determine if the historical context of significance of the buildings will be affected or compromised from the project. WHS made recommendations in its Historic Resources Impacts Analysis for each of the four buildings to reduce or eliminate the identified impacts. The District will follow and implement the recommendations in the Historical Resources Impacts Analysis in order to ensure there will be no significant impacts to the historical resources. Also, the ADA improvements for all four buildings will comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties as well as the State Historic Building Code.
