Reasons for Exemption
Proposed project is located in state-designated Ecological Reserve to maintain and promote wetland habitat and resources. Alterations include reconstruction of existing California Least Tern site along west bank of western basin with gently sloping shoreline, minor alteration of northwest wall with inclusion of riprap material for stability, maintenance reallocation of current sand deposition in northern area of west basin to promote deeper habitat and fish production by increasing the tidal prism, and maintenance reconfiguration of suitable sand on east bank of west basin.
