Document Description
This project involves the extension of the original ITP term to December 31, 2033 for ongoing operations of the Sunol Valley Aggregate Quarry Project and minor amendment to include coverage for enhancement of the North Pond which was required by the federal Biological Opinion. Under the ITP, the Permittee expanded the overall production potential of the quarry by increasing the area by approximately 58 acres.
The Project resulted in permanent impacts to 34.94 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) habitat. The ITP Amendment will result in temporary impacts to the 0.6-acre North Pond and the 10.2-acre surrounding grassland. The project is expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above and ITP Amendment 3 as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
