Document Description
The Collier Park Renovations Master Plan Project provides recommendations for specific improvements to developed areas of Collier Park as well as concepts for future improvements of undeveloped and underdeveloped portions of the property. The primary goal of the Master Plan is to provide enhanced recreational amenities and opportunities that serve to encourage more active use of the park by residents of the surrounding neighborhood.
The Collier Park Renovations Master Plan recognizes the importance of the park's early history and is consistent with the 2012 General Plan and the General Plan Historic Preservations Element.
In 2012 La Mesa developed a citywide Parks Master Plan with a long term goal of upgrading City park facilities. The citywide Parks Master Plan included a specific recommendation to finalize a master plan for renovation of Collier Park to create a more effective use of La Mesa's oldest park.
