The project includes the injection of an electron donor amendment and bioaugmentation culture to remediate volatile organic compound (VOC)-impacted groundwater. This involves the addition of selected non-pathogenic (naturally derived, not genetically engineered) chlorinated ethene-degrading Dehalococcoides ethenogenes culture (referred to as SiREM's KB-1) into site groundwater through site groundwater wells to facilitate reductive dechlorination of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in groundwater beneath the Rho-Chem facility.
