Document Description
Replacement of the existing Nacimiento Lake Drive Bridge over the San Antonio River, including the realignment of the roadway approaches to the bridge. It was constructed in 1921, is a single-lane structure that is approximately 292 feet in length and 20 feet in width. It is a four-span structure, a "steel pratt through truss" type bridge. This existing bridge does not meet current design or seismic safety standards.
The replacement bridge will be constructed approximately 130 feet downstream of the existing bridge. It will accommodate two lanes of traffic with shoulders, will be approximately 267 feet in length and 35 feet in width and will have two spans with a center pier. The bridge type will be a cast-in-place, post tensioned, concrete box girder structure.
