Document Description
The project is limited to the replacement of thee actively failing culverts. The Sotoyome Resource Conservation District conducted a sediment source assessment on the Jenner Headlands property. These three sites were noted as being high priority due to there high likelihood of failure and the large volume of fine sediment that will be delivered in the location stream system if they are left to fail. The replacement culverts have been sized to convey the 100-year peak storm flow. Work will be done from existing roadbed so there will be no direct impact to the native stream channels. All work will be completed when the stream channels are dry. Bare fill slopes will be straw mulched and seeded with native plants for erosion control after the replacement work is completed. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2011-0289-R3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code 1602.
