Document Description
United Water Conservation District has received grant funding from the Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency to assist with the installation of new monitoring wells in the Oxnard Foreby groundwater basin, near the floodplain of the Santa Clara River. The purpose of the well installations is to document the subsurface geology along this river reach and to initiate a long-term data collection program in this vicinity. The Oxnard Forebay is that area where much of the groundwater recharge for the aquifers of the Oxnard Plain occurs. United needs additional monitoring wells in this important area to better understand groundwater responses to both natural riverbed recharge and United's managed aquifer recharge activities on nearby properties.
