Document Description
This project will conduct vegetation removal maintenance on four existing drainages flowing into the Thermalito Power Canal. Vegetation removed will span a distance of approximately 2,500 linear feet. Accumulated vegetation will be removed from inside and bottom of the drainage ditch embankments using a backhoe. Equipment will access ditches from DWR service roads located from Table Mountain Road and along the Thermalito Power Canal. Removed vegetation will be transported via dump truck and stored off site at the local DWR Thermalito Diversion Dam spoil area. Work conducted will create minimal disturbance and will stay within the existing footprint of the ditches. Work will be conducted when flows are minimal to none, above ordinary high water mark and during dry condition. Work will take approximately 10 days to complete and will be done in the late summer/early fall to avoid bird nesting season. This activity may occur annually when necessary.
