Document Description
High river flows during winter storms of 2010-2011 eroded the embankment of the access road to the intake screens of the American River Pump Station. Approximately 350 feet of the embankment eroded and washed away from the site, which is located adjacent to the north fork of the American River near 492 Maidu Drive in Auburn. It is proposed that the embankment be repaired during the dry season and is expected to take approximately six weeks. The repair will consist of excavating the eroded area to sub-grade, placing gunite, rock (rip rap), and boulders on the sub-grade and shaping the finished slope to a condition similar to the slope that existed prior to the erosion. The contruction equipment will access the site via exisitng roadways.
