Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and
Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-CCA-44206-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Contra Costa Water District.
The project is limited to installation of a new section of pipeline underneath Walnut Creek crossing for the purpose of conveying water to replace an existing failing section of pipeline. The new section includes two 36-inch diameter pipelines, each extending a distance of about 1,960 feet. The new pipelines are to be installed by horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and are expected to reach a maximum depth to invert of about 80 feet below the existing ground surface. The new pipelines will be connected to the existing pipeline with an array of connecting pipe. The old section of pipe is to be drained, slurry/grout filled, and abandoned in place.
