Document Description
This project involves replacement of the existing Appian Tank and auxiliary improvements at the tank site; replacement of the existing water pipeline to the tank; storm drain outfall improvements; access road improvements; and installation of a below-grade electric power line to the tank site. Tank replacement and auxiliary improvements would take place at the existing tank site, while the access road improvements, pipeline replacement, and the new electric power line installation work would take place along the existing access road. The ITP Amendment 1 constitutes a Minor Amendment to an ITP CDFW issued to Alameda County Water District in connection with the project in August 2013. This Amendment modifies the timing of mitigation required by the original ITP. The project will result in impacts to 4.077 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma californiense) and Alameda whipsnake (Masticophis lateralis euryxanthus) also known as Alameda striped racer (Coluber lateralis euryxanthus) (collectively, the Covered Species) habitat including temporary impacts to 4.07 acres; the Project will permanently remove 0.007 acres of Covered Species habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of Covered Species, which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project implementation.
