Caltrans, in conjunction with Federal Hwy Administration, proposes a project to reconstruct the sand storage building at the Tahoe City Maintenance Station. The new sand storage building will have the same interior footprint as the existing building (approximately 40 ft by 80 ft) with an additional housing for a new double walled brine tank. The work to be performed will include removing the existing brine tank, demolishing and removing the existing sand storage building, constructing a new sand storage building, installing a new double walled brine tank adjacent to the sand storage building, minor electrical work to provide power to the new building, and minor paving work to conform to the existing pavement.
