Document Description
Implementation of an In-Lieu Groundwater Banking Project which will store groundwater by providing surplus imported State Water Project surface water supplies to Antelope Valley farmers to meet agricultural demands instead, or "in-lieu" of pumping groundwater. The Project area includes farmland purchased by AVEK as part of the WSSP program: WSSP-1, located near the community of Rosamond in Kern County, and WSSP-2 in western Lancaster in Los Angeles County. The project also provides for a Public/Private Entity within AVEK's service area to purchase, store, and withdraw banked groundwater subject to the terms of the In-Lieu Agreement.
