Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is amending Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 16.00-2012-0154-R4, issued to the Resource Conservation District of Monterey County. The Project includes a watershed-based, invasive, non-native plant control and riparian restoration program within the Salinas River watershed. The Agreement is amended to change the requirements for pre-activity surveys for which Arundo retreatment and planting activities outside the bird nesting season may occur.

The Project will occur entirely within Monterey County, in and adjacent to the Salinas River, from the mouth at the Pacific Ocean upstream to the border of Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties. Three (3) general areas are defined as: Area 1) the Coastal Zone, occurring from the mouth of the River upstream approximately 2 miles to Highway 1; Area 2) occurring from the upstream limit of Area 1 and extending upstream to the town of King City, Monterey County; and Area 3) occurring from the town of King City upstream to the border of Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties.
