The California Department of Fish and Game, as Lead Agency, is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game has noticed increased water seepage through Shaver Dam. In order to reduce seepage and protect the upstream face of the dam from the elements, SCE is applying a PVC geomembrane liner. The liner should protect the upstream face of the dam from weathering and reduce the seepage, thus extending the life of the dam. Attaching the liner to the dam will require a drawdown of the lake level to Shaver Lake. The California Department of Fish and Game has determined is subject to regulation pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1600 et. seq.
