Document Description
This project will replace the fence along the bluff at the South end of the San Elijo State Beach campground, starting at stairway #1 and continuing to the top of the bluff. The fencing will be on the East side of the existing paved walkway and will eliminate the walking along the fencing behind the campsites. This is a health and safety issue as the old fence is falling off the cliff. The old fencing will be removed and recycled and the old concrete footings will be left, to prevent damage to the integrity of the bluff. This area of the fencing is 4' tall. The fencing around the tower is 6' tall for the security of the tower and will have one double gate and one pedestrian gate for the Lifeguards. All waste materials will be recycled. The new road access to the tower will be graded through campsite #54 on the South side and will create access to the tower for emergency vehicles. The campsite will still be in use as it is a very large campsite.
