Document Description
The Public Works Department acquired a grant from the 2009 EOC Grant Program, released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and administered through the CA Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA), to improve emergency management facilities in the City of Half Moon Bay. An existing 3-trailer annex, approximately 2,160 s.f. in size, attached to the existing police station (approximately 2,880 s.f.) will be replaced with a new building, approximately 2,880 s.f. for a total of 5,760 s.f.. The replacement of associated infrastructure will replace deficiencies to support a sustainable, secure and interoperable emergency center. The purpose of the modified structure is to provide an effective, reliable, integrated, flexible and comprehensive system to alert and warn citizens in situations of war, terrorist attack, natural disaster or other hazards to public safety and being.
