Document Description
The existing boat ramp is above ground help up by piles and girders. The girders are sagging, and the ramp has cracks and gaps. The existing precast panels have also shifted. Also, launching is not possible year round due to the inadequate length of the current ramp. The replacement ramp will be approximately 24 feet wide which is an increase of four feet over the existing ramp. The replacement ramp will be approximately 142 feet in length which is an additional 20 feet from the existing ramp. Minimal grading will be done for the ramp to achieve the correct slope. It is estimated that less than 10 cubic yards of material will be graded onsite. The replacement ramp will be constructed with precast panels and require 5 steel piles. A boarding float will also be installed on the ramp. Additional work (as well as a portion of the ramp) is above ordinary high water mark. The site is not ADA compliant and needs an ADA path of travel from the restroom to the top of ramp. A biological assessment was done for the project and recommendations in the assessment will be followed as necessary. Since this is an existing facility and the site was more heavily disturbed during initial construction, it is unlikely any cultural resources will be disturbed. Also, aside from the piles, construction will only disturb the surface layer of the ground. Anything buried in the project location will remain that way.
