Document Description
Jose Basin and Blue Canyon restoration projects would rehabilitate approximately 15 acres of land damaged due to illegal OHV use. Unauthorized trail around gates and illegal OHV use in meadows, on sensitive soils, and at water crossings are the main cause of damage to the Jose Basin/Blue Canyon OHV areas. Project activities would close off illegal routes, protect meadows, and block access to and rehabilitate closed areas. Restoration activities would incorporate the use of native materials to restore project sites to a natural setting. Hand tools and power tools would be used to cut trees and move rock. Grading and mulching of soil to reduce compaction and increase new vegetation growth would also be implemented.
