Document Description
Reintroduce fire onto a 230 acre coastal terrace north of San Simeon Point and adjacent to Oak Knoll Creek as part of an exotic species control and native plant community management program. A prescribed fire interval of five years will maintain the perennial native bunchgrass and reduce exotic species in the coastal prairie scrub vegetation community. The 230 acre plot is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the south, Highway 1 to the north, Oak Knoll Creek to the west, and Tortuga Creek to the east.
