Document Description
The BLM proposes to plan restroation activities along the Pacific Crest Trail in Kern and Los Angeles Counties. BLM proposes to collect GIS data, and perform detailed analysis on 111 of the 132 miles of the PCT in this proposal area. The additional 21 miles have a low probability of OHV incursions. If BLM funding is available, BLM would include the additional section in the overall output map for the entire project. Steps would include: (1) Perform a precision GPS survey of the 111 miles and enter the data on a Geodatabase, GIS Data Layer. (2) Utilize the experience gained from the initial survey, revisit, and spend additional time performing documentation of significant OHV incursions. (3) Develop and photo-document monitoring pionts at each incursion. (4) Follow significant OHV trails away from the PCT, and gather information about starting and ending points and other information.
