Document Description
Install seismic monitoring systems and seismometers to study southern section of the San Jacinto Fault Zone in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. At each seismic sensor site holes approximately 3' deep and 3' in diameter is dug with a shovel to bury the sensor and the data acquisition system. Solar panels with potentially a radio antenna attached will be installed. Some equipment will be dropped via helicopter. Equipment to stay in place for approximately three years.

No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with Section 15300.2. Project consists of basic data collection, research, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource and is included as "resource studies" under the Departmental List of Exempt activities in accordance with Section 15300.4.
