Document Description
Annual routine maintenance is required on the Rubicon Trail (Trail) in order to continue to comply with the Cleanup and Abatement Order (CAO) (R5-2009-0030) issued by the State Water Resources Control Board Central Valley Region to the County and USFS. El Dorado County has installed various best management practices (BMPs) on the Trail during the 2009 and 2010 season as part of the CAO efforts. These BMPs will need to be evaluated for effectiveness of achieving the CAO objectives and cleaned out and updated annually, if necessary, during the summer season. This Project would allow El Dorado County to evaluate the BMPs and complete the routine annual maintenance along the 3 miles of the Rubicon Trail where BMPs have been installed. The project would also fund restroom maintenance (annual pumping and supplies) and acquisition of two snowmobiles and a trailer to facilitate winter trail inspections.
