Document Description
The proposed project is a seismic upgrade to the existing hospital facilities in compliance with State Bill 1953, which requires hospitals to comply with specific seismic safety deadlines. Reasons for Exemption
The project site is not located within the visual corridor of a state scenic highway and is not visible from a state scenic highway (Sec. 21084(a)(b)). The proposed project would not impact any known archaeological or historic resources, as delineated in the City of Salinas General Plan, page COS-26 and COS-28 (Sec 21084(a)(b)), and subsequently would not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historic resource (Sec. 21084(a)(e); 21084.1). According to the CDTSC website, the project site is not included on a list of hazardous materials sites compiles pursuant to Government Code 65962.5 (Sec. 21084(a)(c). The proposed project is a seismic retrofit of an existing hospital facility located within the City of Salinas and does not increase capacity of the facility.
