Document Description
Note: Review Per Lead
To dredge an average annual 500,000 to 1,000,000 cubic yards (CY) of littoral material from the Federal entrance and navigation channels, and from the sand trap areas including dredge areas A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, and I. Annual Federal dredging, occurring since 1969, would typically be completed within a one month period, normally sometime between September 15 and March 15. Weather conditions, performance of the dredging equipment, and funding levels could all influence the duration of the dredging, and therefore, up to 75 days annually are allowed for in the dredging contract. Placement of dredge material would occur at South Beach, McGrath State Beach, and/or McGrath State Beach Nearshore for beach replenishment downcoast of the harbor. Dredged material would not be placed in the mouth of the Santa Clara River or its estuary.
