CDFW has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement No. 1600-2016-0022-R3, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, West Sacramento Area Flood Control Agency. Project is limited to implementing flood risk-reduction measures along the Sacramento River South Levee such as setback levees, slope flattening, seepage berms, slurry cutoff walls, levee slope bank stabilization, and utilities and operations and maintenance (O&M) easements. Additional project elements include erosion site repairs on the existing levee, encroachment removal, marina access ramp construction, corrugated metal pipe removal, breaches to the existing levee to open the offset areas to Sacramento River flows, offset area bank stabilization and revegetation, borrow material excavation from neighboring open and agricultural land, structure and road demolition, and vegetation removal.
