Residents protected by the Palo Verde Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) are proposing to form a fire protection district pursuant to the Fire Protection District Law of 1987 (CA Health and Safety Code Sections 13800 through 13970) and the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000 (CA Government Code Sections 56000 and following) to support the continued delivery of fire suppression, rescue, and basic life support emergency medical services to their community. The Palo Verde VFD has provided fire suppression, rescue, and basic life support emergency medical services to the community for 29 years. This IS evaluates the potential environmental impacts that could result from the proposed Palo Verde Fire Protection District formation.
