Document Description
The bioengineering restoration project is divided into 3 sites located on the right (western) bank of the Russian River, upstream and downstream of Villa Pompeii at Asti in Sonoma County, CA. Historical aerial photographs show that the site was stable until relatively recently, 1993/1995, when the river meander patterns changed to direct flow against this bank, in addition to expansion of the massive gravel bar that now occupies most of the river in this location.
