Document Description
CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1602 (SAA # 1600-2011-0252-R6) of the Fish and Game Code to the project Permittee, California Public Utilities Commission. Permittee will install approximately 593 miles of middle-mile fiber-optic cable and associated infrastructure, to provide broadband service in unserved and underserved areas of the Eastern Sierra. The project includes: construction of a new, approximate 479-mile backbone fiber optic cable route; construction of approximately 62 miles of new distribution lines: placement of approximately 52 miles of fiber-optic cable in the existing utility conduit; and construction of 17 nodes or prefabricated buildings to support wireless system. Approximately 333 DFG jurisdictional waterway locations will be crossed by the proposed project. Permittee will conduct trench and plowing across 128 group ephemeral drainages and horizontal directional drilling across 127 perennial drainages and 78 wetlands.
