- The proposed project site is approximately 1685 acres, and the Project includes construction, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of a 300-megawatt alternating current solar photovoltaic energy generation plant, interconnection transmission line, operation and maintenance (O & M) facilities, wells, waterlines, and site access roads. Project activities include mowing, disk and rolling, grading, and removing a portion of the vegetation on up to two-thirds of the Project site (depending on topography), trench digging, pile driving, road construction, compacting soil, and other activities. The Project will result in permanent impacts to 1685 acres of desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) habitat resulting in incidental take of individuals of this species, which is designated as a threatened species under the CESA. The incidental take permit issued by the CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of Project construction operation, and decommissioning.
