Document Description
The project is for Mendocino City Community Services District to install a liner in an existing emergency overflow pond. The overflow pond is located along the north boundary of the Mendocino Wastewater Treatment Plant. The purpose for the overflow pond is for storage of raw sewage during periods of high flow that exceed influent pump capacity and in the event of a malfunction in any portion of the treatment plant. The pond was designed as an unlined holding basin. The installation of the liner will make the pond bottom impervious.

The project is to line an existing holding basin. No expansion of the pond capacity is planned. The project consists of installing a 60 mil HDPE liner to make the pond bottom impervious. The existing berm along the north and east side of the pond will be relocated along the west berm. The liner installation will not result in a serious or major disturbance to the environment. No change or expansion of existing use is projected from the project.
