Reasons for Exemption
There will be no adverse long-term or short-term physical impacts of this project. This is equipment that will be installed in an existing parking area on the SJCOE campus in an existing industrial area. The project involves the removal of a minimal number of immature trees which will be replaced at other location on the campus. It has been determined that these panels will not present any hazard to the air traffic at the Stockton Metropolitan Airport. This panel array and related charging stations will be a teaching tool for students in cooperation with the contractor SolarCity. The installation will meet applicable codes and the requirements of Pacific Gas and Electric for interconnection. The electricity generat3d will be used to offset campus utility costs and there will be increased shaded parking spaces on the campus as a result of the project.
