Document Description
Replace a comfort station (CS) and associated utilities at the day use area at New Brighton State Beach to comply with current Health and Safety Standards and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Guidelines. The overall footprint of the structure and surrounding concrete pad will be approximately 186 square feet less than the footprint of the existing restroom facility. Work will: " Remove the existing 2" PVC above-ground water supply line located on the surface of the bluff behind the existing comfort station; " Excavate an approximately 57 linear foot utility trench at campground space #75 at the top of the bluff and anchored to the bluff utilizing built-in-place pipe anchors at appropriate spacing intervals. " Excavate approximately 42 cubic yards of material up to approximately 3.5' deep for concrete foundation and installation of utilities; " Install a ne w2" gate valve at waterline tie-in and at toe of slope; " Install 6' of 6" sewer pipe from existing gravity sewer stub and conduit for electrical line from the existing PG & E transformer to the CS pad; " Install 6" of road base and lay 756 square feet a 6" thick concrete slab encompassing foundation; " Install a new 366 square foot prefabricated comfort station; " Install a new free-standing shower tree and drinking fountain to the south of, and within 25' of comfort station; " Grade for ADA compliant path of travel, positive drainage around the structure and sheet flow drainage from the shower and drinking fountain.
