Document Description
The purpose of this project is to provide a water supply to the Main Street area for current and future uses. Visitors use the Main Street area for camping, day use and large group gatherings. The well also supplies water for dust abatement operations.
This project will provide for one test boring, well drilling, well casing with screens, filter pack and sanitary seal, submersible well pump with discharge piping, and well head treatment system with chlorination. It will also include a 20,000 gallon above ground seismically anchored steel tank with foundation, booster pump, and pressure tank assemblies. The pressure tank, well pump, and water treatment will be housed in a prefabricated concrete building. The project will be enclosed with a chain link fence. The well installation includes associated electrical upgrades.
Site work will include installation of a one 20,000 gallon low profile tank (approximately 12' diameter x 26' high) placed on top of a concrete right footing. Minor excavation a d compaction is required to level the water tank site; approximately 40 square feet. The well building is a pre-cast concrete building, approximately 10' wide by 20' long. The concrete footing for the building will require trenching approximately 2'deep. The tank and well building will be situated on compacted fill soil on an already disturbed area.
A utility trench from the west side of Main Street will provide electrical to the well apparatus. The trench will be approximately 18" wide x 36" deep and 150' long. All water piping and connections from the well to the holding tank will be above ground.
