Document Description
This project method includes all of the individual project sites county-wide where chipping-only services are provided by hand crews from Cuesta CC. Specifically, these projects are most commonly performed in conjunction with projects where the landowners have cleared and stacked excess vegetation in accessible locations along roads and driveways. The chipper is sometimes provided by the project sponsor and sometimes provided by CAL FIRE. Depending on the project, chips are disposed of both on and off site as agreed. The amount of this work completed varies greatly from year to year and the treated areas and chips produced are not quantified, but shipping where no cutting is involved comprises the least amount of work of any project method performed by Cuesta CC. Chippers are normally towed behind standard pick-ups and no off-road travel is permitted. No heavy equipment use is permitted. This project method will not impact cultural resources.
