Document Description
EMWD is replacing the pumps and associated equipment in the Pala Lift Station, resulting in the need for construction of a temporary bypass system while the main system is off-line. The proposed project would construct a 120-inch diameter concrete bypass pit/manhole, and excavate a 6-foot wide trench between the bypass pit and an existing manhole for placement of approximately 30 linear feet of underground 240inch diameter pipe. The project would temporarily place two above-ground 18-inch diameter pump lines to connect the bypass pit to the existing pump station. The above-ground pump lines would not require excavation or other soil disturbance. The pump lines and associated fuel tanks and power packs would remain in place for approximately one month prior to their removal. All project impacts would be temporary.
