Document Description
The project is limited to use of an airlift suction pump to remove accumulated sediment from the drum gate chambers of the Rock Creek and Cresta Dams. The sediments will be transported via piping to pre-established locations in the reservoirs upstream of each dam where it will be deposited and allowed to settle. Deposition sites will be completely surrounded by turbidity curtains to minimize generalized movement of excavated sediments into the reservoirs. Once sediments have completely settled the turbidity curtains will be removed. The sediments have been sampled and tested for levels of heavy metals and various target organic compounds and found to be below hazardous levels.
