Document Description
This project consists of the expansion of the Border Field State Park nursery for the purpose of increasing the native plant production for vegetation restoration projects. The project includes the removal of several large salt bush (Atriplex canescens) adjacent to existing nursery. Also a portion of the existing chain link fence will be removed and the addition of additional chain link fence including 20 (approx.) fence posts. Primary coastal scrub species will not be removed and native plant enhancement will occur around existing and proposed nursery fence.

Reasons for Exemption
No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with Section 15300.2. A resource ecologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to natural resources. An archaeologist will ensure avoidance of significant impacts to cultural resources. There will be negligible or no expansion of existing uses (class 1). Project consists of projects not to exceed five acres in size to assure the maintenance, restoration, enhancement, or protection of habitat for fish, plants, or wildlife that would not disturb hazardous materials or cause significant adverse effects on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat (Class 33).
