West Chocolate Mountains Renewable Energy Evaluation Area (West Chocolate REEA, or the REEA) EIS and Draft Amendment of the CA Desert Conservation Area Plan. The EIS evaluates six alternative, including the No Action and No Plan Amendment alternatives, to address the potential environmental impacts of: 1) authorizing testing for and development of solar and wind (renewable) energy development facilities on approximately 17,900 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) managed surface lands; and 2) leasing approximately 20,962 acres of federal mineral estate for geothermal energy testing and development.
