Document Description
The City of Anaheim, as part of its ARRA funded Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project and in order to achieve customer manageability of their electricity use and cost, will deploy smart meters using a combination of matching city, federal and PIER funds. Smart metering has the potential to assist customers and City of Anaheim in improving the balance of energy supply and demand during summer during summer months when supplies are low, energy prices are high and demand is the greatest. This will also be done trough time of use (TOU) electric rates and rates that rise during peak demand hours to encourage conservation via a price signal communication.
