Document Description
The proposed Project would remove dead and downed woody debris from an overflow side channel along the left bank (looking downstream) of the river to prevent debris jams. Vegetation less than 4-inches diameter at breast height (DBH) would be cut to enhance flow through side channels. Metal and other man-made debris would be removed and disposed of at an appropriate off-site location. An area approximately 300 yards long and 50 feet wide would be affected. Approximately 4,500 feet of riparian vegetation, primarily alders and mule fat, would be removed. All work would be done when the site is dry. No work would occur in the main river channel. Work would be done by hand. Equipment to be used includes chain saws and chipper to dispose of woody material.
