Document Description
The proposed Project would restore habitat for California red-legged frogs. A backhoe or similar equipment would be used to remove sediment and approximately one-half of the emergent vegetation from part of the pond. This material would be distributed and stabilized over upland areas near the pond in a location where they would not reenter the pond. Approximately 7 cubic meters of sediment and emergent vegetation would be removed. A barbed-wire cattle exclusion fence would be installed across half the pond. The fence would allow vegetation to be grazed and removed from half of the pond while retaining emergent vegetation as cover in the other half. Equipment used will include a small track mini excavator and similar equipment.
