The subject property is presently being utilized for residential purposes. The site is zoned AE. The Rural Valley Lands Plan of the Tulare County General plan indicates that the subject site is located within the Urban Development and Urban Area Boundaries for the City of Woodlake. The Environmental Resources Management Element designates the site for "Intensive Agriculture". The site is within the noise-exposure contour for SR 245. The site is within the "H" Horizontal Zone of Woodlake Municipal Airport. The proposal is in compliance with the Tulare County General Plan and all applicable Elements.
Document Description
The Special Use Permit would allow an agricultural service establishment (agricultural trucking operation) on a 1/2-acre portion of a 5-acre site. The family-owned trucking business (father and sons, and brother) is primarily utilized for the transport of agricultural products: tomatoes/tomato paste and citrus are a sample of the products they haul. Typically, the trucks are driven up to the Los Banos area on Monday morning and the ensuing week is spent transporting goods from Los Banos to Lemoore, and back-and-forth again. The trucks are parked on the project site when not in use; typically, only on the weekends and holidays. A maximum of five trucks would be parked at the site.
