Document Description
On January 22, 2013, the Santa Monica City Council authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Meek Shea, Joint Venture, a California-based company, in the amount of
$8,200,000 (including a 5.9% contingency) for the construction of the Santa Monica Municipal Pier Structural Upgrade Project, authorized the Director of Public Works to issue any necessary change orders to complete additional work within budget authority, authorized the City Manager to negotiate and execute a fourth modification to Profressional Services Agreement No. 9079 (CCS) in the amount of $210,000 with URS, a Nevada-based company, for Engineer of Record services and hazardous materials testing during the construction phase, and appropriated specified the budget changes. These actions are part of the Santa Monica Pier Emergency Gangway and Phase 4 Structural Upgrade Project. Prior to making its decisions on these discretionary actions, pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15164, the City Council considered an Addendum to the Initial Study/ Mitigated Negative Declaration for this Project along with the previously adopted Mitigated Negative Declaration and determined that no additional environmental review is required.
