Ormat 21, LLC/Ormat Nevada, Inc. is proposing to construct and operate the ORNI 21, LLC Geothermal Project, a 49.9 megawatt binary geothermal power plant and well field consisting of approximately 9,976 acres of private land, the majority of which is within the Salton Sea Known Geothermal Resource Area within Imperial County. The project components would cover approximately 195 acres of land and include a binary geothermal power plant; a geothermal well field with up to 50 geothermal wells; above and below ground pipelines; access roads; a substation at the power plant, a switching station and a transmission interconnect line to distribute power to the grid. The project also includes a Zone Change, a Tentative Parcel Map and a Request for Variance.
