Reasons for Exemption
Operation, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, or topgoraphical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use. This exemption applies to the project's maintanence of trails and replacement of damaged signs. Section 15304 exempts minor alterations of land and vegetation, including the removal of non-native plant species degrading natural resources. This exemption applies to the removal of invasive plants and planting of native vegetation. 15303 exempts construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures. This section applies to the placement of the temporary restroom facilities.
