Document Description
Shaded fuel break. 2 1/2 acres. Stand to be thnned from below, trees larger than 16" dbh to be retained. 90 to 150 sq.ft. basal area per acre maintained. Post treatment stand to have approximately 10' clearance between crowns or 20' between stems where crown-base height equals 20'. Brush to be thinned to spacing of 2x residual height to achieve flame length less than 3'. Slash to be hand and machine piled for burninig or chipped. Project necessary to protect water quality, natural resources, human life, property from catastrophic wildfire by reducing horizontal and vertical continuity. Post-treatment stand will be dominated by large, more tolerant trees.
