Document Description
Design and construct two projects at the Henry J. Mills Water Treatment Plant. These projects include (1) final design and construction of a hazardous waste staging and handling facility to enhance compliance with environmental and safety regulations and (2) replacement of turbidity meters and gas detectors inside the chemical piping galleries of Modules Nos. 3 and 4 to improve the reliability of water quality testing and enhance worker safety. The new hazardous waste facility will include a concrete slab with containment curbs and a sump to collect leaks and spillage, an overhead canopy, separation of incompatible hazardous wastes, a plumbed eyewash/shower station, and a leak/spill detection system. The turbidity meter and gas detector project will replace obsolete, unreliable equipment necessary for water quality monitoring and safety in the event of a chemical release.
